would a 5sfe alternator work in place of a 3sfe alternator on a 3sfe motor? They seem identical to me. And from what I've researched, the motor is the same. It just has a bigger bore.

Any help would be great! I don't want to waste money on an alternator if it would work from my 3rd gen camry.

i'll check and see if the connectors are the same for you later when the gen4 comes home since it also has the 5sfe

i checked the gen4 the connectors aren't the same from the regulator still 3 wires but not same connectors but this is a gen4 i don't have a gen3 .. did some checking the gen3 came with 2 types of alternator one is 80A and other is 70A..
