00 Seatbelt

Got in the car today and when I pulled the seatbelt the part which is bolted on to the post came off. I have spent hours trying to reinstall it. When I get it bolted back on it does not
retract. Anyone have any ideas to get it back together? Thanks

Which belt? Front or rear? Bolting on the pillar where it pivots or where the reel is bolted to?

You didn't by any chance happen to accidently pop off the top or bottom(depending on how you look at it) section, did you? If you did and heard a snap, that was the spring that retracts it back into the reel. You'll need a new belt if you did this.

Front drivers side. Nothing snapped. The whole thing just fell off the pillar. It retracts when I pull it out when it is not bolted back to the pillar. Thanks

Also note that this is the gen2 Camry section... the gen4 section will probably be of more help to you. The US gen2 Camry has a very different seatbelt setup.
