1987 Massive Oil Leaks

I have an 1987 3SFE engine with @ 193,000 miles. It is leaking oil so bad that I refer to it as "The Oiler". I use about a quart every 200 to 300 miles. Everytime when I park I have two spots below the timing cover and atleast one on the other side below the distributor. So it appears it is leaking on both ends of the valve cover. Could the cover be warped?

I have replaced the valve cover gasket and it didn't help. I have tightened the valve cover gasket and it didn't help. A couple of years ago I did the head gasket and am pretty sure I replaced the crank seal, cam seal, and oil pump gaskets.

I'm wondering if engine blow-by could be putting pressure on the oil system? Could it be an EGR issue?

Wipe around the valve cover to see if it is coming out there (clean, drive, then check again).

More likely, you have a bad leak in/around the distrubutor (internal o-rings) and the cam or main seals on the other side. You can pretty easily check under the top timing cover to check the front side of the motor for leaks.

get a timing belt, cam, oil pump and crank front seals, a water pump and a cheese whiz tube of super black silicone along with both oil pump casting seals and a valve cover gasket, strip the front of the motor of all pulleys and pop the pipe from the ex manifold and pop the oil pan off, take the oil pump off the front of the motor and both parts of the water pump, silicone the bat shaped oil pump ring and it will stay in the groove and seal better, replace all seals, put some grease in the oil pump then put the oil pump back on and then the oil pan with the silicone, put the new water pump pieces on and be sure to clean where the big o ring goes to the block, put the timing marks in time and put the new belt on, pour some oil down the center tube where the oil filter goes onto and the rest in the motor, install new filter, now the valve cover gasket-----0ptional parts--------cam and crank bearings, they are worn out, plugs and wires, cap-rotor, the entire job takes most of a day
