Where is the fuel pump?

I know this has been discussed many times... but I still can't find where the fuel pump is. I found what looks like sender under the rear seat cushion, and there is grey cable with two wires (black/white and red I think) going farther toeards rear seat bench. Do I need to remove the bench, and how can I do that without breaking it? I can't find a push lever or something that releases it? Thank you

The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank and is not accessable until the fuel tank has been removed from the car.

The seat bottom must be removed to undo the electrical connections, but all other work is performed below the car. (the seat bottom is easily removed by pulling the black tabs at the front bottom of the seat covers and lifting the seats)

What year are we talking about? The book says that the tank must be removed on my 1988. It would be great if I could do it from under the seat!

You do have to drop the tank, but Charlie is saying you have to disconnect the electrical connector first, before removing the tank. The instructions to get to the connector is then explained.

You can only get to the electrical connections and fuel level sender from inside the car. The fuel pump is only accessable after dropping the tank. This is true for all gen2 Camrys, both FWD and Alltrac, sedan and wagon.
