2nd Generation hook style wiper arms

ive already searched and found some information but not the answer i was looking for.

i have a 1991 camry with the flat ended type of wiper arms. i want to get a pair that is the hook style so i can use botch icon wiper blades.

does anyone know of a direct fit from another toyota i would assume that will work on my camry? i know a 93 tercel has about the same kind but do they bolt on the same? i want to replace the entire arm including where it bolts on the peg that moves the arms.

Toyota has made those flat ended arms for years. The design was good and secure, but a pain when it comes to replacement blades. Try working for Autoz**e where they advertise free wiper blade installation and nobody ever seems to come and take advantage of the friendly offer unless it's RAINING. Many wipers can be popped off and on in a NY minute. We used hate it when someone wanted Toyota blades replaced. Rusty screws, adaptors, pouring rain; not a good situation, especially when you have lines of counter customers not getting their parts while half of the staff, usually two employees these days, is outside noodling on a klunker....

Speaking of adaptors, the "Botch Icon" wipers should come with Toyota adaptors that will turn your flat blade into a hook.

I had the very same problem last year. I bought some Michelin wiper blades which came with adapters but autozone or any local auto parts store should stock adapters that you can just screw on. I know oreilly stocks the "side saddle" style adapter which is a pretty common style, more so than the OEM flat end ones, and should work with contour style blades. Hope this helps

Check the blades that are on your car already. They may already have an adapter on there that will allow you to use the Icon wipers...

I was able to unscrew the old blades, pop off the adapter and work the adapter onto the Bosch Icon blades. I had to break off a piece of the passenger side blade cover to get it to fit on there, but it looks perfect when installed.

I put Bosch Excel wiper blades on my car a few years back and they came with everything I needed. I would guess that the Icons will too.
