hey all

i've got a 90' Camry and i'm thinkin of getting a new engine put in to increase performance...

I'd like to get it to get to 100km/h in about 7 or 8 seconds.

So for anyone one with experience... if u can give us some thoughts on what engine conversion i could do that would be really appreciated...

BTW i just got sum 16" Holotype R Rims with some Dunlop Formula FM901 205/50 i'll get sum pics up soon...

3S-GTE's are the engines/motors that come in 91 - 95 MR2 Turbo's. They also come in Celica All-Trac Turbos.

Instead of a 3S-GTE you could turbocharge your 3S-FE like I did and it'll be a 3S-FTE.

Just keep your mouth shut about it.

Hey... i was checkin around on the net and found a 3SGTE (Model:ST185 if that means any thing to u's) engine for $2,200AUD... but it was a 4WD engine...

Also i've seen a half cut SW20 MR2 3SGTE 1992 Model for $3,000?

So i was wondering if either of these could be used for my 89' SV20 1.8L Camry?

And if so about how much i should be looking at for the fitting?

ThanX

Yes the ST185 and the SW20 engines will fit. However for install costs it depends on the shop and if they know what they are doing. There's more to it than just plopping a new engine in. You have to worry about tranny, ecu, mounts, etc. Justin (Wraith) is the right guy to ask. He did it on his gen 3 Camry. Someone did it on their gen 2 Camry as well but I'm not sure who.

I would also consider just swapping in a Gen2 3S-GE. It makes about 170hp. And would be TONS cheaper. Easier too.
