Problems with an 88 camry

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum.

I recently bought my first car, a 1988 Camry wagon with a 2.5 liter V6 engine and an automatic transmission, and I'm afraid the guy I bought it from screwed me a little bit.

At first everything was great, but after about a day smoke started coming out of the cap on top of the coolant resevoir, I checked the coolant levels and found almost no coolant in the radiator. So, I filled that, now there is whiteish smoke coming from this area (I can't see where exactly):




Any idea what's going on here?

Smoke or steam?
Could be defective (leaking) radiator

Check for blown headgasket which those motors are famous for as well.
