Looks like it will be a direct fit.

If you have a car with dual oxygen sensors, you will get a check engine light (these were mostly California cars) because there is only a spot for the main sensor. You will also have to buy a screw-in oxygen sensor to replace the factory bolt-on sensor. The bottom may not bolt directly to your exhaust, but it probably will. If not, any exhaust shop can fix it up for you.

I have yet to dive into anything with the exhaust system on my car. The exhaust is currently all completely stock. It seems in racing applications, headers help boost the speed. Im wondering what the advantages are for a stock 3SFE engine. From you Charlie, or anybody else with experience with our car, what do you think? Do they offer a significant boost in speed? Would you upgrade the whole exhaust system, muffler, piping, etc. or just headers?

what im thinkin is just extend the wiring for the sensor plug, and fab it up into the down pipe. you might not even have to extend it. just move the spot down a few inches

The 3s-fe is pretty limited in overall flow, not just by the headers. By themselves, they probably wouldn't do much. It would work best with a 2 1/4" full exhaust behind the headers, probably.

I wouldn't want to guess on any performance figures though... but my first 3s-fe 5-speed kept up just fine with a V6 auto even though I had a passenger. This was when I had a cold-air intake, heade and cat-back exhaust (with the stock CA midpipe with cat). The V6 only had a muffler.

Wow that must have been fun/surprising though this is also somewhat the case with my Accord V6 campared to I4 5speed. I remember someone on this forum saying that they 'felt' the most gains in the top end with catback installed. Perhaps headers will extend those gains into the mid range too? Low end power is hopeless with 3sfe and auto

that is very true. but my intake ports are polished to hell. like mirror shine polished. soo that helps a TAD. and right now im running right out the flex pipe. so i have NO power whatsoever. i have to putt putt everywhere and limit driving it.... until i get my new front pipe and megan muffler that is.
