Blower motor replacement not seating properly when installed.
I have a 88 camry and I have replaced the heater resistor and the blower motor was also bad. I got a new blower motor from Napa and for some reason I can only get the motor but not a motor with a fan unless I go through the dealer.
The Haynes book suggests that I take the fan off the old blower motor and put it onto the new one. I was able to get the fan off and onto the new on but when I put the blower motor back into its housing it doesn't seem to seat itself flush with where the 3 screws are supposed to be screwed in.
The old blower motor seemed to have a deeper ring around where the screws were supposed to go. I tried to push the fan down lower onto the motor but it won't go down any further. The new blower motor is a Siemens blower motor.
I want to know if this is going to be an issue because when I turn the heat on hi, I don't feel a lot of air coming through the vent. It seems the air is escaping through the area that is not flush on the blower motor. Has anyone experienced this same issue when replacing a blower motor and if so how did they overcome it.
