ignition switch??

i was wondering if the ignition switch can be disassembled for contact surface cleaning,similar to the contacts on the starter solinoid??..91 Camry/2.0/auto

I did that few times; however the tabs which keeping the halves together are fragile

DOCJ...when you unclip those tabs....are there any parts inside the switch that come shooting out??...or is it pretty much a easy clean and reassembly? thx,mike

the parts can fell out but not really jump far away there are , sliding connectors and i believe larger coil spring to return to ignition from start position.You need to pry these tabs away from the center by wedging small flat screwdriver between them and the opposite half. if this done not too fast the parts should not fly away.

thx for that info,i'll give it try...but first i'll make sure i can get the part local if it gets to confusing to reassemble.
