84 camery hesitation

I bought this car with 82000 org. miles it idled alittle rough when stopped at a light while in drive,it also would heasitate under speed intermintantly, I put lucas fuel cleaner through it which helped, I put new ngk plugs in it which helped more. I just rebuilt the carb this weekend, when I first drove it down the road it heasitated alittle when it was cold but quit when it warmed up.
Now it heasitates when your giving it alittle gas(very little pressure on the pedal) or when you get up to speed and let off the gas then apply slight pressure to maintain speed it will heasitate. I checked all vacum hoses everything seems to be fine. any other ideas or suggestions? thanks Jeff
( sorry for the misspelling of Camry in title I wasnt able to change it after posting)

I also have an 84 Camry, and it does this. It does it less (or I notice it less) than it did when I got it a couple of years ago, and this is partly due (I suspect) to having thorougly cleaned the throttle body with a spray can. I've also checked the throttle position sensor and adjusted the idle speed, and I suspect the culprit for any remaining hesitation is probably wear in the throttle butterfly valve. Or something else I really can't be bothered dealing with yet.
I believe there are other, more informative, threads regarding similar issues, if you search a little.

^ I have to agree with aussie_gen1. I would start by cleaning the throttle body thoroughly. Here's a DIY on the 5SFE engine. Your 2SE engine will be similar:

How to: Cleaning Throttle Body -4 Cylinder Engines- With Pictures

If that does not cure the problem, I would change the spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor.

"I just rebuilt the carb this weekend." Incidently, your car is fuel injuected. It does not have a carb, so what did you rebuild?

Mike
