Wobble

So I have a new major gremlin. When slowing down or cruising at around 35-45 mph I get a major wobble in the steering wheel (jerks back and forth). I am figuring it is tie rods or stabilizer bars, but is there something else that will cause this? I know it needs some CV boots, so I am going to be doing that too.

My bud who is more of a Chevy guy calls it the 'death wobble' and says that trucks like he has get it when the tie rods are bad. Would this also be the case for my 89 Camry Wagon?

Check the wheel nuts, ball joints, tie rod ends and swaybar to control arm bushings in the front. At least one of those is probably bad.

With the camry, it could be a variety of things. It could be anything the posters above me posted, or it could be your brakes. My 89 sedan had bad front end shaking while slowing down from speeds above 30. We fixed this by replacing the whole frontal braking system.
