today i went to clear the back window and the wiper only like moved an inch then stopped. i tested running it while holding it off the glass and it works but its insanely slow moving. i know how to get to the motor from inside the 5th door but my question is where do i apply lube and what kind is best for this application.
yep i know =/ im asking around for used motors now and seeing what i can find. i thought about shaving the wiper when i first got it like what many mini cooper owners do but i decided against it because its one less window i have to clear in the winter.
I figure that if I scrape the windows anyway it will be ok in the winter since it has the defrosting lines in mine.
I actually used the squeegie at the gas station this morning since it had rained last night and it stayed clean the whole way to drop my daughter off at school. I might just keep a small squeegie in the car for that specific purpose and shave it off.
www.car-part.com is a great site for stuff like that, however, the link pasted didn't work. You can't paste search results from that webpage unfortunately. =\

great link for used parts! But not having the wiper arm on the car for a while made me like how clean the back looked with it off. so i got a black plastic cap and washer and shoved it in the hole where the motor shaft comes out. im sacrificing functionality for looks. haha
I might do the same soon. I have a motor that I pulled off of a car in the junkyard. I'm assuming it works only based on the fact that the wiper attached to it was not that weathered, so I think it was replaced recently!

yea i actually replaced my wiper arm/blade for 50 bucks about a year ago. got them both new from the dealer. but i do like the look of the shaved wiper. its like what the mini coopers do.
i'm parting out my whole car. so, no need to keep it. i'm moving to a higher spec, same age, lower powered AE92 corolla 4 door liftback (we call em SECA's here). the camry had a horrible death.
