Do It yourself Gen2 Cold Air Intake............IT WORKS!!!!

.

Ok a K&N Pannel Filter will be the best, as the engine bay get quite hot(compaired to other cars) and so a pod filter would not make much difference.

The CAI:

1) Undo the plastic wheel guard on the passanger side.

2) Remove the battery

3) Remove the fuse box next the battery

4) Remove the bottome of the airbox and block off the rectangle end as best you can(air-tight)

5) Undo the bolts under the battery holding the "silencer-box". (the Silencer box is located between the wheel guard and the underside of the engine bay.

6) Remove the silencer box and reattach the plastic wheel guard.

7) Reaplce everything in the revers order.

Now the air will be drawn from the circular hole on the silde of the engine bay, so the air will come from outside. (ei. cold air)

The ECU needs about 500km or one tank to reajust. It makes the air to fuel ratio leaner or richer untill it finds the best ratio for the way you are driving the car. So don't be affraid if the exhaust starts to pop a bit. It's better that you do it all at once, filter CAI and exhaust, but if u can't wait then once they're all installed, disconnect your battery and press the break untill the break-lights don't come on any more.(ei. you have to drain the car of power completely.)

Don't use 2 1/2 if your are getting mandrel bent exhaust, use 2 or 2 1/4. If your just getting normal bends then my advice would be to use 2 1/4. REMEMBER the bigger the LOUDER. Bigger exhausts give better "top-end" (more power at high revs) but less torque at the lower revs.

i didn't have to jack the car or take off wheel to get at the resonator, just take the plastic guard lining off.
