Re-enforcing the underbody

Hey all,

It's been a while since I was on here last. I've been so busy with my job.
Anyway, I've been driving my '88 Camry to work as much as possible. In one of my last threads, I asked for some advice in ways to re-enforce the subframe mounts. I didn't get very much response.
So, I'll ask again. Has anyone ever had any problems with the subframes dropping on '87-91 Camrys? Mine has the 2.0L 4cyl. w/ 4spd. auto tranny if it makes any difference. How would I go about re-enforcing the area thats rotting (it looks like the rear of the subframe mounts to the front floor pans)?

I think that if I can take care of the subframe issue, this Camry could potentialy last another 5-8 years, or 200,000 miles which ever happens first. It may not be the prettiest, but it has started on days when my Explorer hasn't.

Hi: You'll probably have to cut out the rusted part (if possible) and replace it with new metal. This will probably involve welding, since the only way to eliminate rust is to replace the rusted out part(s)
