FROM DR. J
OK I am looking on wire schematics right now and I have few suggestions:
I am assuming that the w/r wire only connects AM2 to ign s/w and not supplies power to any more circuits
1)If the AM fuse blows (presumably)
upon shut down of the engine, try to put different engine
main relay into the relay box
and also check the 7.5 A ignition fuse
making sure it is not replaced with one of higher amperage.
2)
a) Remove white/red wire from AM2 fuse terminal and ignition switch AM2 terminal; INSULATE (tape off) the ends and near the ignition switch;
b) Temporary run a new good wire between AM2 and Ignition switch.
c) Then get a small light bulb 12v, 3.4 watt, tape it to the windshield,
d) Use long wires and connect one side of bulb to the AM2 fuse and the other side of the bulb to the original wire you removed per (a).
If a random short is evident in the original wire .....then the bulb will light up when the random short occurs proving your therory.
The ign. switch will now be powered from the wire you installed per (b); and the light bulb will come on or flicker if the w/r wire will ever shorten to the ground.
Note: if the short is caused by the ignition switch and NOT the wire then the bulb will not light up! Therefore if the car dies and blows the fuse ( or breaker) then it is NOT a short in the AM2 - ignition Wiring..

I gotta stop working graveyard
We will keep you updated when the culprit is found and until then the auto reset breaker is a safe work around keeping me on the road
