87 Camry question about rear shocks sagging down?

Hello,
I have a 87 Camry 2.0 5 speed and the rear of the car is sagging down quite low. I have replaced the shocks they are new and working fine. I am thinking the problem here is the coil springs are sagging down low with the age of the car and perhaps this is a problem with this car please advise me with this question? I would like to know why/what is causing this and how to fix the problem. If indeed it is the coil springs then please advise me if its worth the effort and money of changing out and putting new coil springs on the car it has 170k on it. I think that it would be quite risky to change the coil springs in my car due to age, rust, rust on bolts back there, and taking apart so much of the car in the rear. Again I don't know that is why I am here asking so please advise me here as I am sure there is others on here who have had the same problem with the back of the car sagging low. Thanks for your help in advising me here as to what the problem is and what to do to fix the problem.
Dave

im far from an expert but can share my limited experience. i put the intrax custom lowering springs on my 90 camry in 2001 along with kyb gr2 struts. it is a great setup and has been amazing. last year, 2009, after 8 years of using this setup, the intrax springs started sagging, mainly in the front.
there is a lifetime warranty on the springs but i haven't found a shop which deals with Intrax to warranty them, which also can align it, that I trust.
hopefully soon I can get the springs replaced and can confirm for 100% it was the springs causing the car to sit lower than it had the other 8 years.

Hello there,
Thanks for sharing all that info and it helps. I think the car is sagging from the coil springs. Please let me know if you find someone who could do your springs as I would like to use them as well. That is my problem here if I had a good mechanic shop then I would just have them replace the springs but this is a hard job and the car is old so the wrong person could cause unrepairable damage to my already old car.

when I had the springs and struts replaced in 2001, the shop charged around $400 in labor. they did a great job but it was back in Washington State. intrax lowering springs and kyb gr2 struts cost roughly around $500 in parts total.

im sure other people have had experiences modifying the suspension on our model car and can share more information...

I believe factory replacement coil springs are available from most auto parts stores.

As long as the springs aren't rusted, you are probably fine as they are. If you don't like the ride height, fix it, if it looks fine to you... leave it.

I did a full performance suspension replacement on my first Camry when it had about 230k miles on it...
