'91 Camry Radiator

My old radiator was leaking from the joint between the core and top tank. Rather than see if it was repairable, I just replaced it.

The service manual shows there's a O ring seal at the joint. I was curious, has anyone tried to repair these?

Thanks - Paul

Can you clarify what O ring seal you're referring to? Maybe a picture or a better description?

jamblaell - Thanks for your reply. See page CO-15 http://camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen2/Cooling.pdf

It's the seal that's crimpped between the core and the top (and bottom) tanks.

I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt that part is sold individually.. Interesting thought though, I wonder if anyone else has any information...

I don't think so - no. AFAIK, aluminium radiators have that o-ring, but they are pressed together at the factory. Once it starts leaking there's no servicing/dismantling them; you throw it away and get a new one. That's why people opt for copper radiator because they can be brazed if they start leaking.
