Removing front rotor-I did a dumb thing!

Ok, I admit it. I did a dumb thing. I need to get the front rotor off to get it turned. I pulled off the caliper and the brake rotor would not move. So, I get a socket pulled off the center big nut and tried to use a 3 arm puller to remove the rotor! You can probably guess what happened next. Well I didn't get the rotor off, but I know have the whole spindle halfway off the steering!

After reading this thread how to remove rotors
now I know how I should have done it, but I didn't

So, how do I get spindle back on without disassembling the whole thing. Boy, do I feel stupid!

Thanks.
Michael

First off, you probably want to post this in the Gen4 section, not the Gen2 section...

That said... did you just push the axle back through the hub partially or did you separate the wheel bearing?

If you just pushed in the axle, just slot it back in there and tighten the nut. If you separated the hub/wheel bearing, you will need to take the whole assembly off and have it pressed back together.

Oops, sorry you are right, posted in the wrong section. My bad.

It is far enough out that a can't get the bolt to thread back on. So, what do I do next? I guess I have to remove it, huh? What is the procedure? Thank you.

I'll ask again... did the axle get pushed out the back or is the hub and wheel bearing separated.

If its just the axle, you have to just align it and get it back together. Otherwise, you have to take the whole assembly off and get it pressed back together.

It most likely an axle got pushed from its splined bore. Spay WD40 on the splines then grab the axle on other side and pull it in to expose the threads, then get on the nut and tighten it .
