Anyone ever tried Goodridge SS brakes? From what I've found their only for the 90-91 Camry which I thought was odd since I thought 88-91 was all the same and the exact same part number is listed for the es300 (Gen. 3 counterpart) not the Gen. 2 counterpart the es250. I'm really interested in getting a set but I have a 91 V6 non-abs and I'm really not sure if 1) they'll fit (V6,non-abs) and 2) if their even worth it. Any input would be really appreciated. Eric
That is a bit odd about the brake line fitment for the Goodridge lines... I would suggest calling them directly to ask or inquiring with Techna-Fit. You can also get upgraded lines locally made for about the same price normally - but you have to bring in your stock lines for them to copy.
As for the performance... It is a huge improvement over stock, especially compared to possibly worn/soft old factory lines. It will not improve stopping distance, but feel and subjective performance will be greatly improved.
The standard upgrades in the performance car world are better pads and stainless lines as a first step.

Thanks Charlie. I actually don't know of any shops in my area that would make a set of lines for me. I guess I'll check around. Yea especially since my car is a non-abs model the break feel should be a lot better. Thanks for the input Charlie, I was hoping that you or someone else might have already tried them on. Thanks Eric

I have stainless lines (Goodridge) on my WRX and I am quite happy with them. After that upgrade, most of the flex left in the system is from the firewall and the calipers.
If you want to try local, call around to hydraulic shops in your area. I'll be doing custom lines when I do the big brakes on my Camry...

Hose-Man is right down the street from my work, pretty much. I'd go there if I didn't already have a hook up at a hydraulic shop down near my buddy's Subaru shop.

Will do Charlie thanks! Big brakes on the Gen.2? I thought you already had celica all track brakes on it. You going with something else?

I sold the front ST205 brakes due to wheel clearance issues - the calipers are just too big! I will be using the rear brakes though and matching them up with probably a 4-piston caliper from AP Racing (or maybe Brembo).
I'm going to worry about that after the motor swap is done though... (which will happen after my WRX is back together, ugh). Getting a custom big brake kit done correctly is actually a pretty big project.

Oh I see. Man a BB kit would go down nice with your 3sgte swap. Well thanks for the advice and good luck with the work, and as always keep us updated with the progress.
Just to update any of you guys who were also interested in the Goodridge lines its only for ABS Camry's according to a Goodridge rep. Which sucks for me...
