2nd Generation anyone help?

i just was given a '91 v6 with 128k by original owner. most of the performance questions and answers here seem to br centered on 4 cyl vehicles. anyone have info on 6cyl mods (turbos etc) also suspension and brake upgrades. also my car is an auto..does anyone know whether factory tach instrument panel will swap with my non tach one?also any thoughts on larger external mirrors? the stock ones are a little small for my taste (please respond if you have personal knowledge/experience with this as im sick of wasting time with the " well so and so said he thinks it might work" type of advice and thanks in advance for your help

The cheapest route would be those slip over towing mirrors. They're available at most part stores and clip to your existing mirrors. I used a set for my '96 Dakota Sport whenever I had to tow with that P.O.S.

However, they don't look good.

Suspension between the 4-cylinder and V6 has the same geometry. The only difference is the front springs/shocks are a bit stiffer to handle the extra weight of the V6. If you are cool with the front being a bit lower than it would be on a 4-cylinder, any suspension upgrades swap between the 4 and 6 (springs, struts, swaybars, bushings).

A tach cluster is a direct swap for your current cluster as long as you match it for the engine. The wiring is there in your car to make the tach work. If you get a late model cluster (match the 'look'), you can even swap over your speedo/odo section and keep the mileage and all that correct. The V6 dash shows a 6.7k RPM red line and 135mph top speed (instead of 6k and 125).

Live with the small outside mirrors. They may be small, but you have tons of visibility out the back of the car with the main rear view and through all the glass.

First off when was the timing belt, w/p, idler, tensioner, seals, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, valve cover gaskets, thermostat, radiator cap, trans fluid, diff fluid, and hoses changed?

If anything I'd tackle all that first a foremost. besides that intake and exhaust is really all you could do without going totally custom. There should be some suspension work you could do as well along with brakes.

Not many people have posted an actual turbo 2vzfe on here so I have yet to see one. If the camry wasn't my gf's DD now I would attempt it myself with a ct26 and a few spare parts off one of my Supra's.

Does anyone know how "rare" the V6 is? I have 1 pretty much the same as mldokes with the same amount of k's and I got it around August too. Since I've had it I haven't seen another V6 driving around and there are only a few on ebay/carsales etc. mldokes, i am looking at doing the suspension soon to but I don't know where to go about it. When I do I'll let you know how I went.

Good luck,
Timken
