Getting back the tone.

How can i get back that beeping tone that comes on when you have the key in the ignition and you open a door (or when you take out the key with the headlight still on.)

I notice sometimes when i wash the car and i open the back door on the passenger side, the "door open" light in the dash comes on. (this is the only time it comes on).

The only tone the car currently has is the one you get when you shift into Reverse.

The door pin switch for your driver's door may have stopped working.

Does the dome light come on when you open the driver's door? (when it is set to turn on with the door, of course)

That light has no bulb in it currently, so i couldn't tell until i purchased one for it.

There are times however, that when i put the key in the ignition, i can hear the tone, but just faintly. You'd have to listen closely and it'd have to be in a quiet surrounding.

The light on the gauge cluster should give you the same info. Try wiggling the door pin switch (you can feel it through the little rubber boot near the door striker).

There is also a chance that the door buzzer/chime has gone bad or there is a wiring problem elsewhere.

Just getting around to fixing this issue... Reason i wanna fix this so bad is the jamaican road code states that in daytime misty weather ... park/fog lights should be on....

So... I wanted an idea of where the device that makes this chime is located so i can remove any consoles before hand and go straight to an electrician to check it...

Don't trust some of these dudes with removing things to get to whatever they wanna work on.... cuz if he damages my shit ... i'm gonna punch him in the face...
