Lexus ES 250 1990

Hi guys,
My car is Lexus ES 250, I think the same with camry 1990 V6. When you start the car, it runs a little bit and stalls, and smell with gas. Before there was an issue with IAC, I opened and cleaned it, then you started, it still ran but the engine was not running smoth like before, and now it stop. Does anyone have same problem? Help me please. Thank you

Did you remove anything besides the large intake tube when you cleaned the throttle body? You may have damaged something in the process - mainly the AFM (air flow meter - on top of the airbox).

Is the check-engine light on while the engine is running? You can check the codes easily yourself...

Thanks for your info
B/c the first time I didn't know where is IAC located. I did remove the big hole and I thought the AFM is IAC. I removed that and maybe it is damaged. How do I fix now? Let me know. Thank yo

If you removed the two screws on the top of the AFM when you tried to remove the electrical plug, there is a very good chance you damaged the internals of it. This can cause the symptoms you are describing.

You will have to remove the black cap on the top (cut the silicone and pry it up carefully). There may be loose or broken wires inside that you can repair.

If you didn't remove the screws on the AFM, it is probalbly something else. It is fairly robust unless you make that mistake.

You can buy a refurbished one or get one from a junkyard too.

Its not 100% that the problem is with your AFM though... We will need more info to figure it out from across the internet.
