Should i take my camry for a 6hour road trip

Me and the wife live in Farmington NM and we want to take a trip up to colorado springs to visit family.I am thinking about taking my 91 camry with 207k on the clock. I just want to make sure it will get us there and back. Its about 6hours one way. Ill have to change the oil and coolent before we head out.Ill also need to check the Timing belt. The po told me it was changed when he put the new cams in. But id like to see for myself.I recently took it to albuquerque NM which is about 3 hours one way and it didnt give me any problums. Do you think this car will make it there and back? I have owned it for about 4 months now and havent had any trouble with it.

I don't see why not. If you had no problems going to a warm/hot place like NM, then it should be able to make the trip to Colorado Springs. Just be sure that you have carefully checked it over.

If you are maintaining it then you should have no problems. when you do your oil change and coolant change, look around for serious leaks. Then make sure you bring an emergency kit with you. If you bring it, you won't need it. And if you do not bring it, you'll need it.

Things to consider bringing
1) quart or two of oil
2) jug of coolant
3) 1/2" drive 21mm deep socket on a breaker bar (for lug nuts)
4) 3/8" drive ratchett and matching 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm
(With those you can disassemble any toyota)
5) Phillips and flathead screwdriver
6) *** Flash light ***
7) Batteries for said flashlight
8) Fully charged cell phone to call for help if need be
9) Pair of Pliers Linemans and needlenose

Make sure you spare has air in it

Make sure you have a working jack with you. Nothing like finding out on the side of the road your widow maker jack is frozen or broken. Tack on a tow to your trip at that point

Make sure all your lights work before you leave (avoid unwanted confrontations with the law)

Look it over before you leave and prepare for the worst. The tools and stuff should be able to stow away nicely in a duffle bag or something of the sort. Don't be afraid to stop at an autozone and get their cheaper tools for your emergency key either, they work. Other than that its all up to lady luck. If something bad will happen, its best to be prepared. This list does reflect my OCD on preparedness for long trips.

LET THE MILES ROLL!!!

Also check your air pressure in your tires and make sure your windshield washer reservoir has fluid in it.

Add jumper cables to the list, but everyone has a set of those in any car right?

You'll be fine if the car is up to date with maintenance.
