Who wants to play "Guess why it's doing this"?
Ok contestants, here is the list
#1 - Car pops out of 5th gear sometimes, but only 5th. It seems to do it while decelerating or after a hard pull and releasing the gas quickly.
My guess - needs gear fluid, anyone know what weight? I'm hoping it's not synchros, goes into gear just fine, no grinding, untill it pops out and i try to shove it back in, then it slightly grinds. damnit it synchro isn't it?
#2 - My temperature gauge is moody, it sometimes shoots from cold to way past red for no reason. It sometimes does this after being parked all night. I used to think it was a bad sending unit until I got mad at it and punched it, which seemed to have reset it. So sometimes it shoots up and after a love tap, it goes back to where it should be.
My guess, gauge or bad connection to gauge? Maybe my car is just a filthy skank who is into SM and likes the love taps?
#3 - Seat belts oh seat belts u dirty little.......Ok, so the whole them sliding up and down part works like a charm, the only problem is that the whole them locking up when u tug on them hard doesn't. They look nice but couldn't stop you (or my wife...) from faceplanting the dash. I tried tweaking playing with that emergency release lever which actually really did nothing. Any suggestions?
My guess, I need a badass racing helmet and 4 point harness, giggity
#4 And this one is Bonus Round ; Does anyone know if the corolla/4 runner/tacoma/t-100 or any other toyota has interchangeable interior door handles? I'm down to one working door handle in my car, and it's back right side which is no good to me. Went to the scrap yard and they wanted 25 bucks a handle and all the camrys had their handles missing. Having to roll down the window to let urself out from the outside isn't half as Dukes of Hazard as I thought it would be at first. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time, have a good one.
Shit PS, the car is a 1990 4 cylinder 5-speed with 276k miles and stock aside from my performance rust holes on the exhaust. I am like the 30th owner and I payed $250 for the car, but aside from that list (and a desperate need for a new suspension) it's a dream car.
