2nd Generation no spark, codes 14 and 51

I tried to diagnose ignition system on my uncle's 89 Camry 2.0L due to no spark. Also, i pulled codes are 14 and 51. What is name of codes? These codes related to spark problem? I am using to manual service, http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen2/Ignition.pdf. I did follow to step test with digital meter for ignition system. The distributor is good. The manual service says, the igniter could be replacing?
Any suggest?

Thanks!

When asking for help it's best to give more information; such as the mileage on the car and any recently history of repairs or maintenance.

That said, the manual should have what the codes mean. Look a bit further in that section. The coil inside the distributor goes bad a lot more frequently than the ignitor on these cars. You will need a digital volt/ohmeter and the specs from any manual to test it. You can also just remove it from the distributor and inspect it for hairline cracks. A cracked coil will short itself to ground on any bare metal inside the distributor. That's another common problem when these cars rack up lot's of miles on them.

Mike,

The car has 195,000 miles. Distributor cap, rotor, ignition spark plug wires, and spark plugs were replaced, last year. The car sat for one year. My uncle said, that is car has problem with no power and rough running when acceleration or uphill.

I think that could be problem with timing belt is jump tooth or old belt made stretch. I removed timing belt cover. I found oil leaking on timing belt. So, I recently replaced all oil seals and oil pump gasket/o-ring and oil pan gasket. The timing belt and idles were replaced. I tried to start up car but no running. i found no spark. Today, the distributor removed from car and inspect the coil's primary was within specification and secondary was out of spec. that I tested it with digital ohm meter. I got used coil from junkyard. I installed it and got running! The motor's running like as brand new. Also, the check engine light is gone, too.

The car is almost finish to fixing. Its needs joint C.V. and muffler.

I'm glad I was able to help. Like I said, it's usually the coil, not the ignitor that goes bad.
