Yes, they are weaker than other cars, but that's just how it is. Be careful.

Yeah i do have those spring rods.
I could've swore i saw a thread in this section about twisting them to get back the tension or something like that.
I did a good search yesterday using keywords "trunk adjustment", "trunk" "trunk lid" etc. but couldn't find a thing.
anyone saw this topic?
Sometimes i have to whisk my son away from that area when it's open, for fear that it might shut on his fingers or he may very well climb up in there and it locks him in, God forbid
