1989 Camry won't start only click (please help please)

I keep getting a click every time I turn the key and the engine won't start.

But maybe after 20 tries or so it will turn on...

Yesterday, I have tried for an hour straight to start it and it won't start, just a click every time...

So I am thinking starter motor... So I am thinking ebay, would this do the job:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=390156072458

Anyone have some words on what I have to remove to get to the starter motor? Maybe some pictures? That would help..

Thank you!

No need to buy a second hand stater -it could have the same problem. Just get new starter motor solenoid contacts, they should be no more than $5. Here's a write-up.

How to: Replace starter motor solenoid contacts – intermittent starting problem

^ What Jimnist said. That 1 click and no start is a common symptom of the starter motor's solenoid contacts having excess wear on them. You can actually varify this problem with a simple test. The next time this happens have someone hold the key in the start/crank position while you go under the hood and tap the starter with a wrench or a small hammer. Give it a good tap, but don't try to break the thing. If it now starts/cranks, you have varified the worn starter solenoid contacts problem.

One of my local junkyards has a electrical shop that sells them. Any auto electric shop would have them. You can get them at Toyota, but their price is way too high. You can also get them online at a place like www.startercontacts.com

Good luck. I've replaced starter contacts on a tercel, camry and tacoma. Seems like they go ~120K or so, before you get the 'click' symptom.

You probably just need a new starter solenoid. This seems to be a common problem with Camry's.
