weird revving sound

i changed my air filter yesterday with a motomaster air filter..now there's this deep, very low, loud revving sound everytime i step on the gas..doesn't sound like it used to i know that changing the air filter lets the engine breathe properly, but i dunno if this is the right sound that says it ..

That's why you should use OEM, Beck-Arnley or Purolator filters.
I used STP one time and it collapsed, letting unfiltered air in (without making noise like yours)

Make sure the intake tube is on tight with no holes/tears and make sure the airbox lid was put on correctly.

bought an OEM air filter from the dealer today..weird sound went away although i could still hear quite a bit of a difference..might be because the engine is breathing better?or a hole on the exhaust manifold? might stop by my mechanic this week to get it checked

If you think you have a leak in your exhaust manifold you can check it yourself pretty easy. Get a can of deep creep. Follow the vacuum tubing from the brake booster to the engine. and loosen the hose start the car with it still connected and be prepared to quickly pull it off and start spraying so the car doesn't die. Your gonna kill two birds with one stone with this one. You're gonna blow out the carbon in your engine and check for leaks. Spray the entire can of deep creep in there. and let the car sit off for 15 minutes. Make sure all hoses are reconnected and start the car it will blow a ton of smoke out the back, the carbon on your engine blowing out, and if your exhaust manifold you will see smoke coming from it. Save yourself the 50-60 bucks for a dealer to do this when you can do it for 10.
