Exclamation 91camry still leaks oil quickly aftear cam/crank/oil pump seals replaced

Hello.
I have a 91 Camry 4 cylinder.
In an attempt to fix the normal oil leaks I've replaced the camshaft seal, crankshaft front seal under the timing cover, and also replaced the oil pump o-ring as well as the valve cover rubber gasket.
While I was in there I also replaced the timing belt, powersteering belt, and the accessories belt.
The engine leaks about 4 tablespoons of oil in about a minute at idle. I do not know if this is different from the severity of the leak before I replaced seals. The oil is leaking from the passenger side of the engine.
there is now a constant hiss coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment. It does not 'whur' like a bearing or belt might sound. I'm unsure if a vacuum line has become undone or if I'm hearing oil leaking under pressure. There is also a noticeable lack in power upon acceleration.
Its now midnight here and ill provide more information in the morning/daylight.

Does anyome have any good advice to give me before I tear back under the timing cover? I need to get this vehicle running asap. I'm thinking about using a UV dye to confirm the leak location, since oil has likely splattered all under the timing cover. Is there anything else that would cause/allow a fast leak on the passenger side of engine while the engine is running?

Thanks for any help and/or good advice.

I forgot to mention that when I changed the seals that I suspect the camshaft seal to have originally been leaking. There was significant oil sludge/crud everywhere under the camshaft seal area.

Let me preface this by saying, I'm a interested onlooker here since I'll be going down the same path shortly. I have a '91 Camry with some leaks in the same area and have been preparing to do the same job you've just completed. I'll be interested to hear what more experienced folks here have to say.

If I were you, I'd remove the timing covers again, reconnect the engine mount, start the engine and see where if you can see where the leak originates. With that big a leak, I have to believe it's going to be obvious. Of course take all the necessary precauations to keep everything (including body parts) away from the spinning belts and pullys.

Be sure to post back and let us know what you find.

Good Luck!

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing if the leak location is not obvious. Ill certainly post up my findings.

Maybe the seal(s) aren't securely seated. If the fit is not just right, it can start to leak again.

I assume you also replaced the oil seal around the oil pump shaft. I suspect it will be obvious when you get it apart again.

The most common leak is a rolled oil pump O-ring.

Turns out my oil pump gear worked itself loose. I torqued it down and the fast oil leak disappeard. A slow leak remained and it turned out that a wire had gotten under the valve cover and disallowed a proper valve cover seal.
No more oil leaks as of yet, but I have about a 16th" wobble in the crankshaft pulley. The accessories belt doesnt jump at elevated engine rpm, so ill just leave it. I'm uncertain if this was a preexisting condition.

Good to hear it. Hopefully, I'll be joining the leak-free club here soon.
