Mysterious A/C leak?

Hey all,

So my A/C was working fine 3 weeks ago on the friday when i drove home from work. The next day on sat, i turned it on and it just blew regular air. Seemed like the compressor wasn't kicking in - same thing happened about 6 months ago and turned out a wire was broken.

I took it to the mechanic on the thrusday (that just past - 25th) and he said the system was completely empty. He re-gas it(didn't note how much gas was put in it) and when i drove home the A/C was cool; not cold. Turn the A/C on on the next day and it's blowing warm air again.

So back to the shop it went - this was only yesterday on the 27th. He put some more gas in it with UV dye and tried to look for a leak. Couldn't find one, so he said it's not leaking. As i left, it was blowing cool air again; not cold. 3 hrs after leaving the shop, i drove to the beach with the A/C on and it was warm again.

Can anyone help me diagnose this problem? It must be a leak, right? Are there any common places that the A/C leaks from that's hard to find?

You can do pressure drop test for each part of the system ; see my thread regarding my a/c repair (on my car the condenser had a crack)
