park lights dim dash lights

Hi All

Recently purchased a 1989 Camry sedan 2.0L, A/T

When I turn on the parking lights, the following lights dim:

the clock and

transmission lights for "norm" "D" "2" "L"

not "P" "R" or "N" lights

is this for night time driving?

atobe is right! And you'll be glad your dash lights dim after you own it for a while.

My only suggestion is (after years of trial and error) that if you decide to install an aftermarket stereo, do NOT connect the illumination wire (it's green) to the deck. I only say this is because anytime you turn on your headlights, even in the day if it's rainy or foggy, you'll barely be able to read the stereo display. It's a pain. I've experienced it mysefl.
