This is a mechanical issue, I fixed the electrical wiring loom last weekend, I kick myself in the butt I did not check the lock out when I had the D-panel off
(talk about tunnel vision…)
This is my
problem: The exterior (rain)gate that covers the tumblers will not move fully out of the way when I attempt to insert the key into lock. I have tried sprays and a pick to free it up but no good. Not sure how it was damaged, I just picked the car up last week, it was a gift my boss who knows I have a thing for old Toyo's.....
Question: Does anyone know if the gate is part of the bezel/chrome ring and how is it accessed? When c-clip is removed from the inside ?
Parts man told me it is very easy to break the metal tabs when bending them to remove the bezel/chrome ring ?
