Can't get new rear strut mounts in? 1990

I am trying to replace the strut mounts on my 1990 camry sedan. However, both the moog and monroe strut mounts are a bit off, one of the screws is like off by 0.5mm. http://www.kyb.com/products/struts/i...ount_large.jpg using that as an example it would be the closet screw that is 0.5mm off. Anyone have any suggestions or is it just difficult to get in? I'm thinking about enlarging the mounting hole a bit...

Won't harm a thing by enlarging the mounting hole.

Go for it!

I agree. You'd be hard pressed to see a difference on a good alignment machine. I'm willing to bet your suspension parts are deformed more than that from just being used. They all do that.

I had a lot of trouble with the rear right strut mount on my '89. From the sound of it, the trouble was very similar to what you describe. I could get any two but not all three stabbed through the holes. Eventually I forced it through there without hurting the threads.

The other 3 mounts were fine.

Heh I had to shave it a bit but I got it in, probably will take the nut off and put a nice thick washer under the nut due to the enlarged hole

Those nuts are there to hold the strut from falling out only under full extension - don't even worry about it. The only want there could possibly be a problem is if you are jumping the car...
