2nd Generation Locking mechanism freezes.

My drivers door lock freezes when it is less than 20 degrees out.

Its not the actual lock that freezes, but the post or whatever that pulls the drivers door lock fob up and down. It will get stuck somewhere half way and wont let me open the door. once i warm up the car, it works fine.

anyone have this issue? Im trying to get the door panel off but im stuck at pulling the interior door handle out. is there a trick to this?

I usually have someone else lift up the outside handle, as that makes the rod for the interior handle slack and easier to move back and forth.

I eventually figured out how to get it myself but it took more practice than I care to mention.

P.S.

To remove my bezel I popped up the rear lip and sled the bezel rearward about 1/4'” to clear the front tabs
