Problem with '86 Toyota Camry.

Makes a strange loud sound on initial start up every morning. Sounds like fan and engine are working overtime. One of the sounds cycles from loud/soft, 3sec/3sec.
The sounds resolve themselves as engine warms ups.
I realize this description is not very helpful,

but I thought some of you with more motor and engine savy-ness might be able to offer some suggestions.

do you have a 3sfe (4 cylinder) or a 2vzfe (6 cylinder) engine?

also is it a sound from under the engine, in the engine, or by the radiator?

next time it does it, check it out with a flashlight and pop the hood. You could have a multitude of problems, so the more you can narrow it down the better!
