USA Water pump 3SFE engine

Can water pump and cover (housing) be removed as a whole piece, without removing the water pump first?
I damaged the philips screw at the right top of the pump that secures the pump to the cover and I have no way to take the bad screw out because of the tight space. I am thinking to take the whole thing out then I have space to use extractor to take out the bad screw.
Does any one know?
Thanks

I'm having a hard time understanding your question. If you're talking about the thermostat housing, then yes you can remove the water pump and the thermostat housing together as a unit.

Report back to PaulPR.
This weekend I took the water pump and housing as a whole piece out. Once it was out, I used a screw extractor to take out the damaged philips screw, then installed a new water pump.
Now the job is done and I am happy.
Thanks PaulPR.
