Which spare socket are you refering to? Also check all your grounds for the hid kit. The grounds on those kits are vital. Bad grounds could cause alot of issues.

The high beam indicator light on the dash lights up through the low beam filament of your headlight bulbs. If there is no bulb there (in your case, probably a relay or other higher resistance thing), then the light either will not light up or will be very dim when the high beams are on.

Otherwise, take those HIDs off your car. You are blinding and annoying other drivers.

checked all grounds remember the hid only plugs into one of the two bulb socket on the car so if i plug a bulb into the other one then that is the time i see the high beam indicator in the dash

hey charlie i am aware of your concerns because i feel the effects of blinding hids every time i drive at night, but the kit that iuse comes with a little metal cap over the bulbs if installed with it it actualy gives you a cutoff line like the regular bulb so u only need to adjust the head lights properly.i been using mine for almost a year and i havent gotten a complain from any other drivers, besides which other technolgy helps with these old burnout headlights

I already answered your question... the blue light is working as designed. It needs a current path through the low beam filament to light the high beam indicator on the dash. Either live without it or put a high wattage, low resistance resistor in place of the low beam filament of the bulb.

I used two 50ohm/10W resistors in parallel to fake it for my aftermarket headlight harness. It won't make the light very bright, but you should at least get it back somewhat.
