2nd Generation Code 12 question!

Ive replaced all of my ignition components except the distributor.which i cleaned with electrical cleaner very well.

Every so often the car will drop in rpms and sort of bog under acceleration.

i replaced most vaccum lines. seemed to help a teeny bit. adjusted timing (retard slightly) helped slightly.

car also starts slowly if its really cold and then runs rough for about 30 secs- 1 min . could that be distributor related? or battery related?

dont want to replace dizzy if i dont have too of course (no multimeter, need to get one). family mechanic says the car wouldnt run with a bad dizzy.

compression is 200 straight across.
alternater was replaced withen the last 2 years.

please shed your 2 cents! -thank you tyler.

the same code can be set if 3-wire connector on the distributor is dirty or damaged, or if starter has problems (for example, it does not rotate engine right away when turned on)

When 10 or 15 seconds required to crank the car before it fires (looks similar like for olde carburated car with low gas level in carburetor bowl) I will make sure that the cold start injector is working.
On the other hand if the engine misfires and shakes during starting I would lean toward ignition system but not necessary the distributor
the code 12 is set when
_ the starter is turned on
_ but there is no pulse signal from distributor 3 pin connector to the computer

See my problem is. ocasional bogging/slight misfirring on very light acceleration.

and sometimes late engagment into first gear. but im guessing thats the trans from years of my gf putting it from reverse into drive without fully stopping plus i changed the trans fluid to add lucas for preventative purposes.

ive replaced valve cover gaskets, ignition coil, distributor o ring (slight oil at bottom of cap),o2 sensor, tps, oil pressure switch, fuel filter, air filter and cold air intake, all vaccum hoses, had injectors cleaned on car, throttle bodys clean (except a little on the inside butterfly). throttle body gasket and im sure a couple other things. and the problem stands.

intake manifold leak? there is some sludge built up on my injectors, harness and rail all the way up to the windshield washer motor and firewall. doesnt appear very wet, slightly glossy.

Two months ago I had a code 12, with MAJOR stumbling under the slightest bit of throttle, stalling, and missfiring. Turned out that the ignition coil I had installed a year ago had burned a hole right through middle of the resin close to where the rotor contacts the coil.
