Question Charcoal Canister Hose <> 1990 Camry 4cly auto

The bottom hose coming from the center of the canister goes where ? It appears to be a vent for somewhere/something.

I replaced my ½ shafts, upon reassembly I discovered this hose hanging down, I looked in my Toyota FSM & I have not been able to determined where it is suppose to go/connect.

OK “my Bad” ; I did some additional research and found this hose should plug into a cross member.

So my next question is, how important is running the hose to the cross member ? While attempting to determine its proper routing I snapped it off at the canister.

I am guessing this is a drain for any condensation that may develop around the outside of the can, Is this correct ?

That hose is just a vent to the atmosphere and does not have to fastened to the crossmember, it can be elsewhere, location is not critical.
