2nd Generation Odometer help. (Australian model)

Hi all,
I recently brought an old 88 Camry Executive as my first car. So far I love it!
One problem though, the instrument panel is the clock type. Even though I have an auto trans, I wanted a tachometer. 'Cus let's face it, a taco is more informative than a third clock.
Anyway, I grabbed an old instrument panel from EBay (the wreckers had a ton of 2nd gen camrys, but they were all ruined from the floods ). It just arrived, and the moment I pulled it out of the box I realized something. My car has 180K (in kilometers, not miles ) on the odo. This "new" cluster has 280K on it!
If it was only 10K or so I wouldn't care, but 100K is far too much. Is there a way to ether transplant my old odometer, or roll back the new one? I'd be more than happy transplanting the old speedo if it came down to it, but this new cluster has one of those fancy dual trip counters, while my old one only has one trip counter, so unless taking out the speedometer assembly leaves the trip counter(s) alone, I want that to be a last resort only.
Thanks in advance
MB

I've changed the odometer reading on a Gen2 Camry before, I can tell it takes a lot of patience. It involves very carefully removing the numerals from the assembly (hard to do without breaking anything), and turning them to the reading you want, then putting it back into the speedo module. A small dab of epoxy or hot glue keeps the numeral spindle in place, originally the plastic is melted down around the spindle to hold it in. The procedure is intricate and requires persistence, it's not an easy thing to do.

In your case, you can swap out the numerals without having to delicately change the reading. But I will warn you, if you make a mistake you might end up with two speedo heads that are broken! But it can be done.
