I had to take mines off for the 2SE...it was a @#$% tight spot. I had to use some adjustable wrench....holy shoots, I forgot hot I did it, but I got it off. It was all plugged up with carbon build up too....
I just got the nut off the top (where the EGR connects too). The line for the 2SE that connects on the other half of the pipe goes under a bunch of other crud, such as the MAF hose some other stuff....and I can't reach that far haaa
no luck with wrench or anything. tried to find a fitting "crows foot"
that adapts too socket wrench.
anyone have some straightforward help? im still lost on what to do. i loosened the egr bolts and made them tight again and then
my little stuttering on acceleration problem came back. i got a new gasket for it and some carb cleaner to clean it. just cant get the banjo bolt off

take a lot of pics, maybe we can give some ideas. Odds are you're just gonna have to take other stuff off to try to get to it, but try taking/posting a lot of pics to give us an idea.
will do tomrw before work.
the only thing i could take off to get to it, is the entire manifold.
which i wouldnt really mind doing. replace the gasket while im in there. but i dont even know how to take it off. anyways will post pics
did a quick google search. i can take the banjo bolt of the other end and pull the pipe out with it. dur im a dumb ass. lol sorry for wasting your guys time!

The lower nut that holds the tube on is also in a difficult spot... last time I tried to get it off (a long time ago) I gave up. Good luck!

Its amazing to me that so many of you have done this and dont know how you did it?
did it just magically happen? lol. wtf.
can someone atleast tell me what size it the nuts are?
so i can go searching for a tool that will work. like a crows foot or something.
rather spend 20 on a tool than 60 for some idiot to do it at the shop.

The nut on the end of the pipe? I had to use the adjuestable wrench to fit it around there....nothing I had would work. This is the nut that holds the EGR valve to the pipe right?
The only time I've done it it was off the car, and I think I used an adjustable wrench. Of course, the motor had no transmission attached at the time...
On my old '90dx, I blocked my EGR and never noticed a problem. (other than an occasional check-engine light due to CA emissions complaining about low EGR temp)

i eventually used a pair of pliers and it came off easy. cleaned it out. and ive got
little smoother idle. didnt fix my little heistation on accel though like i hoped.
put a new gasket on and im good to go.
the only thing i can think of is a clogged cat.sence its 20 years old.
i have a high performance mufffler. should it sound more of a high tone or more or a low and powerful grumble? it sounds low and boggy. which makes me think its clogged up.
also my gas pedel is soft. i gotta push it down a little ways to go.
the cable is adjsuted to the max. so can i adjust it at the pedal itself?

Awesome. Was it pretty dirty?
I am going to do my cat...either way it hasn't been changed from factory (26 years). If it hasn't gone bad - which I think it is prob bad since we're in hawaii and everything here rusts away. Gotta do my muffler too gaah. It's rusted and has a small hole
Is there any other leaks that you can find in your exaust system? usually seafoaming it will let a huge cloud of white smoke out your exaust system - along with any leaks in between
