2nd Generation Oil thickness

91 camry dx 4cyl. What kind of oil to run in the spring/summer?
i run castrol gtx and plan to stay with it.dont wanna run syntheyic even though my engines spotless. i run 10w-30. i know with older cars you should run thicker oil to make up for the gaps.

so 10w-40?

I would stick with the 10W-30 unless your car is burning oil.

5w30 if really cold (Canada winter), 10w30 most of the time, 10w40 in the summer (100*F+ days).

I do 5w30 (~-25* at it's coldest during winter) and 10w30 in the summer, except for in the Geo which is in great shape and gets 5w30 year-round.
