2nd Generation Overfilling tranny

So, after many days of frustration, i think i found out why it wasnt shifting into overdrive.
I had checked the fluid level when hot before, and it was at the top mark of the hot notches. I guess that it wasnt at the proper hot temperature as this is way obscene....

ill drain some when i have the time an see if that corrects the problem

ps that fluid is red not black haha

how long do you have to drive the for the tranny to read at the top mark?

ive been having my doubts about my tranny fluid too.
i do have a bad motor mount though. in the rear. so that could be my extra joltiness.

roughly until the heat from the engine coming through the vents is overwhelming. so in like the 40-50 degrees here about 25 minutes of continuous driving.

by not going into overdrive you mean exactly?

i know mine. if i press harder on the pedal itll finally jerk into a higher gear im guessing or overdrive and it gets moving well then.

before this issue (and before we filled up the tranny due to it being "low") it would lock up at around 40 mph. it would go from 2000 and then to 1600 and then start to climb after 50. now it like sticks at 2k and just stays there until 50 mph then climbs. so its not locking correctly

Mine actually did that but it would get stuck in 3rd and wouldnt go into OD. Now it sorta slides through every gear except between 2 and 3.

It went well. The blown one was between cylinders 2 and 4 but they did both banks because there was no way for them to tell which one was bad.

Total cost was $2,136 with a 15% discount. They replaced all seals from the head gasket up and cleaned it all out. It runs better than ever now.

I had an oil leak around one of the plug wires but all they had to do was re-torque the valve cover.
