2nd Generation Center Engine/Motor Mount 90' 2.5L V6

I think I finally figured out where the majority of my "rumbling" noise was coming from. It wasn't a hub bearing, and replacing the inner and outer tie rod on driver side solved only about 30% of the problem. So I started reading some posts about the engine mounts.

I decided to take a look at the front, center, and rear mounts first and the Center one was completely broken. I'm going to replace all of them, but see the pictures below of the Center.

NOW, my problem that I need some help with.

I can't seem to find the part. I checked Rockauto and other online shops and the only time I can get it to show is if I select the 4cyl. model camry. Everytime I put my vehicle criteria in (V6) it doesn't show? Has anyone else who changed the Center mount have this issue? Where did you order from and brand? Did you just order the one under the 4cyl. criteria?

Thanks for any help.

I believe that that's referred to as the transmission mount, and Rock Auto doesnt have it listed under the V6 but the I4 and V6 do use the same front and rear mounts so I'm pretty sure the I4 part will work.

If you pull up the all-trac instead of the v6 it appears as the "center" mount and it appears to be the same.

http://www.utoyot8.com/Picture.aspx?...ccode=&ppName=

It appears to be 12363

This is probably something I'm going to have to change myself and I can hear a clunking at idle. I think it's the motor rattling back and forth.

Decided to go with the OEM one. $65~ . Some of the ones that I saw online for the 4cyl. which were only like around $25 didn't have the white plastic thing and also it appeared from the images that it had two holes where the plastic thing inserts. Whether it mattered or not I don't know I just went the safe route. Also, a couple of places that did display it for the v6 also showed the plastic thing in the image but were the same price as the OEM so what the heck, just went OEM.

Nice....same problem. That plastic thing just clips into the cross member, I wouldn't worry about it. If the one you got is working then I'm sure you're fine. I would've went your route if you had posted earllier, but no biggie.

I'm so pissed off though right now. I wanted to change all the mounts this weekend. The 3 ordered from toyotapartszone came and fit as expected. The rear from Rockauto doesn't even look like the picture and is not the rear mount as advertised. The one from usaautoparts for the transmission mount, I ordered the one under v6 (there is no distinction listed between auto and manual) Well, the two are identical except the top bolt is on opposite sides depending whether you have a manual or auto....of course they sent me the manual when I need an automatic.

Now that I think about it, I'm just going to drive to toyopartszone (Norwalk, CA Toyota dealership) tomorrow and buy the OEMs and finish this job. They are only 20 minutes from me. I thought I would save $30 on those two mounts, but now I'll probably lose the shipping back cost and be out that money.

Should have just went OEM all around, lesson learned.

Also, the moog tie-rod from rock auto looks old and has some rust and didn't come with grease. Whereas the same one I bought through my local auto store looked new and shiny and came with grease. I'm just getting screwed this time around...hahhahahhaha. I think I'm going to stick to buying OEM and my local auto store and pay more, saves me a headache.

Update: Replaced 4 of the 5 mounts. The transmission mount was not in stock. but at least I can drive it now since the cross members were put back on after replacing the front, center, and rear mounts. Torquing those cross member bolts to 158lbs (or whatever the manual said) was a fail, I didn't have a cheater bar that could slip over my torque wrench so could only get it to 130lbs...should be good though?

I'm real happy because 95% of the "rumbling" I've been hearing is now gone. I suspect the remaining will be gone once I replace the last mount. This little V6 has some spunk! I was quite surprised how quick it moves. I've only owned 4x4 trucks so maybe it's just my imagination.

I assume you are talking about the rear 19mm bolts/nuts on the side-to-side crossmember? Just get them on there as tight as you dare. I use my impact.

All the rest of the fasteners have pretty reasonable torque values.

Charlie, thanks for reassuring me, those 19MM nuts and bolts are the ones I'm talking about.

Dem, the center was broken as pictured. The rear was also broken/torn. The front had many cracks and tears and very spongy. The passenger side rubber seemed to be "sunken in" don't know how to describe it, in comparison to the new OEM one. I'm sure it was on it's way out also.
