'86 Rear Seat Belts

So, as I've stated in previous posts. I acquired my '86 a little while ago and am running into a bit of a problem. Now it's my rear seat belts. I noticed that the car is only equipped with lap belts and not the shoulder/lap combo.

I recently removed the rear pillars and found a empty threaded hole that looks like a belt could be attached there. I'm assuming that this was a factory option and the orginal purchaser chose to not add them.

Does anyone know anything about this? If so, anyone have a set of rear shoulder/lap belts they would like to sell me? I really don't feel safe putting my two kids in the back in their booster seats with only a lap belt.

Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.

By factory for the USA market, all Gen1 came with only lap belt in the rear. I've never seen a 3 point belt for the rear on the Gen1. Maybe it may had been another country requirement, but none for the US at that time in the Gen1. All the sales brochures I've look at for the Gen1 also only has lap belt for rears.


I've seen that threaded hole on the piller when I took it off to combat the rust on the top parts of the rear glass. Not sure what it is for though
