Foot to hand operated

Can i convert my foot operated e-brake to a hand operated in this way?

I found this hidden area in my center console. i was wondering if a hand operated e-brake could fit in there....

below is the entire center console...

with the upper compartment raised...

then with the hidden area removed...

i saw someone do the same on a sv40 camry ... i was just wondering if it could work on my sv20...

thanks

probbly won't be easy... all the USA ones are hand operated... you'll probbly need all those pieces + new center console.. also not sure how the cables are ran to operate the handbrake vs foot brake.

I don't see why you can't do this. I did this on a generation 3, it involves getting the console, hand brake, and e-brake "T" cable from a donor car. So you might be able to do the same thing. Removing the foot brake mechanism was probably harder than installing everything else.

yes it can be done u need the old school corolla hand brake lever and the manual tranny console.to used the exisiting console u would have do some cutting on it . if u are changing from auto to mani the foot e brake have to move to bolt the clutch master as it fits in the same hole that the e brake cable goes through

I know i seen someone locally did it on a sv40 camry with the automatic console.

i would love to jsut replace this console with a manual one, but 2 problems arise...

1. from teh dealer, it's expensive

2. finding a used one locally is not only challenging, but also find one in the same color as my interior.

btw... When you say "old school corolla" ... which year exactly?
