2nd Generation Throttle!

Ive got the 91 dx. ive been noticing in all the pics ive seen of ppls bays.
in the left front corner where the windshield wiper fluid is. theres nothing!. but mine has some type of actuator or something that the throttle hooks up too.

i have shitty throttle response compared to any other car ive ever driven.
and yes the throttle cable is as tight as it can be and all maintanice is done to a t.

question is, is there better response if i removed it and routed it different?

Are you talking about the cruise control in the lower left of the picture? That's in front of the windshield wiper fluid container.

I recently did all that so it's still clean, only 300 miles on it so far.

That is the exhaust crossover pipe and heat insulator. It appeared that was the original color so when I had the everything out I cleaned and re-painted it along with practically everything else.

That is the extent of my knowledge !! so all other questions I have to defer to the other users here! I just followed the manual, read posts from this board, and asked questions on this board to do my engine and suspension.

Like others have said, that is your cruise control box. It was optional on all trim lines except the LE, so only maybe half of the gen2 Camrys have it.

When you say you have shitty throttle response, what do you mean?

Hard to press pedal?
No response for a long way on the pedal (lots of dead travel)?
Does the throttle plate open all the way?
Transmission slow to respond?
Low power for some of the rev range?
Or just low power in general?

The pedal is soft at times. in the morning when the engines cold its a little more hard to press. but the pedal is like a sponge. i push it down close to half way to keep up with fast moving traffic and its still slow. tranny fluids perfect.

i would atleast like the pedal to be nice and firm. very annoying.
