All-Trac bearing question (again!)

So last time it was about front bearings... This time, the rear.

Are the All-Trac wheel bearings in the rear the same as the ones up front? Rock Auto has the rear bearings listed as being the same as the FWD/AWD front bearings. Want to confirm before spending $64 on another set of Timken bearings.

You're in luck! The rear bearings are the same as the fronts on the Alltrac. Both are Toyota P/N 90369-38003

Sweet! Any pointers on the CV shafts? The PO had a new one in the trunk, for an All-Trac. It didn't fit. The FWD ones don't fit. I don't want to spring $220 for some on Rock Auto and have them not fit.

Auto or manual? I have a set of Alltrac auto front ones (for the next week or two... then they go to the junkyard in the trunk of my old Camry). I also have a set of rears in good shape (I'm using ST205 rears as they are the right length for my rear arms).

You can also look around for a place that will rebuilt them for you...

It's a manual... But how much do you want for those rears? Mine are starting to get shaky. What are you running for rear arms? Did you adapt in ST205 equipment?

I don't know... I'll verify they are in perfect condition, if so, maybe $100 shipped for both?

The fronts are different between the auto and manual... but you can use any ST165/ST185 axles up there if you want (I have ST185 inners with gen2 V6 manual Camry outers up front).

The rear suspension on my Alltrac is all ST205 parts (diff, cradle, arms, subframe) except for the struts, which are ST185 Tein SS coilovers. The rear subframe is actually the same part number for the SV25, ST165, ST185 and ST205. The rear arms are 1.2" or so longer on each side, so you have to be careful with wheel offsets and roll the fenders (I have 45mm offset wheels with 10mm spacers on the fronts to even it out).

I wish good luck to anybody that owns this car after me... it has a part from almost every Toyota of that era, it seems (even a Supra TT fuel pump...).

Are the ST185 cv shafts and stronger than the SV25 ones? If they'll go in, I'm perfectly okay with using those. Sooner or later mine is going to follow the path of yours, though perhaps to a different extent. I'll eventually get a, you know, economical car and go full track car with the All-Trac... Gotta show them Civics who is boss!

I'm not sure... are your current axles the bolt-together style? (six 8mm socket-head bolts holding them together at the inner CV)? I don't think they are the same part number from the factory, but it might just be the difference of a damper on the shaft or something stupid like that.

The weak part of my drivetrain is now where it necks down to go into the hubs... I broke one axle on the drag strip, but that was FWD. I don't anticipate any problems now...

Funny thing though, my Alltrac is the daily driver... It will kinda suck after the motor swap getting like 18mpg though...

I'll have to go check, I've got one lying on the ground outside. Thing is toast, boot is gone and there is noticeable play in the outer joint.

I'll post back once I've gone and checked. Thanks much.
