Emissions
So I just bought an '88 Camry, 4-cyl, 5-speed. Went to take it through emissions the other day and it failed both idle and loaded hydrocarbons and loaded carbon monoxide (I think, I am going off memory and will look at my paper and change this if i need to). So far I have done a tune up (plugs, wires and cap) as well as replaced the air filter and the oxygen sensor that goes into the exhaust manifold. Any other ideas as to what I could do? It still kinda smells like it's running rich to me. I know the car had been sitting a bit at some point before i bout it as the oil change sticker on it says it's done about 5k miles since 2006. Would it just need to be driven around a while to get things back to normal? I am more experienced with non-computerized carburated engines so any help with this problem is appreciated. Thanks!
